WE RECENTLY WENT TO ITALY:

A week before Easter, the students of my high-school had the ending course journey. In fact it was an exchange; in January a group of Italian students came to Spain, so that we went to Italy that week. First we visited Rome, we spent 3 days there. We stayed at a hotel called: “Hotel Noto”, where apart from our group there were also other students who were visiting Rome.

For me, those days were the funniest, the Romans were such kind people, we made ourselves understood very well. Althought during the morning we had to walk a lot because there were many things to visit, at night we had a very good time and the Romans nights were wonderful.

We hardly slept.

Then, we went to Campobasso, where our Italian friends lived.

Spanish and Italians in Italy

My Italian partner was Claudia. She is 18 years old although we both were at 1º of Bachiller. I was introduced to all her family, her sister, her parents, uncles and aunts and cousins. They all lived on the same floor in the building so they had a very closed relation.

The comunication was a little more complicated in Campobasso, but with Spanish, Italian, English and from time to time French we achived to understand every thing.

From Campobasso we also visited other cities like Napoli and villages like Agnon –the bell´city- I learnt interesting things from Italy. Such as they shake hands to introduce instead of kissing. They kiss from left to right, we do this from right to left. In each province they have a dialect and they eat paste every day, I must say that the food was excellent.

I was there for 7 days. I´ve brought a lot of photographs and many good memories from Italy.

Italy ‘07

Our trip to Italy took place from the 22nd to the 31st of March, and since the first day until the last one, it was very exciting.

During the flight to Rome we were a little nervous and when we arrived at the airport, one friend's luggage got lost, so in the beginning of the adventure we already had a problem, but finally it was solved because the suitcase arrived the following day at the hotel. We stayed in Rome for 4 days, which was fantastic, and there I had a lot of fun during the day while we were sightseeing the city, and at night when we were together in an only room talking and talking and joking until we were too tired to keep ourselves asleep. In that few days I knew better some people who I didn't know very well, and even the teachers, who were very different from school and let us do almost everything we wanted.

Then, after those 4 perfect days, we went to Campobasso and everyone met their Italian's family. My Italian partner was called Biagio and his house was shared with another Spanish student, Beatriz. Our stay with the people of the exchange wasn't as good as it was expected to be, because it seemed that the Italian students didn't care about us much or about anything we would have like to do. They just did what they wanted and the sentence “all together” lost all meaning in Italy, not as in Spain, where we always were together and did everything they said. I also felt that the relationships between Italian and Spanish students wasn't as strong as in Spain, so I was a little disappointed because of that, but on the other hand, I enjoyed myself a lot with my friends and after all, with some Italian students too.

In short, this experience has been incredible and very useful for my moral development.

Every year in my High School, there is an exchange at 1º of Bachillerato and this year I am in 1º of Bachilerato.

In January, the Italians' students came to Spain and they were in our houses. After that in March, we went to Italy. First we were in Rome, in a hotel; it's called “Noto”. We stayed there for three days, and we had a very good time. During the day we walked a lot, we saw the “Vaticano”, the Coliseum, and other beautiful places. I think that Rome is beautiful!

And at night, we were in the hotel, but we hardly slept, and the last night somebody didn't sleep anything, but I slept three hours more or less.

On Sunday, the Spanish people went to Campobasso, and we stayed there for six days.

We stayed in the Italian's houses with their families. My Italian partner is called Marilina, and she an her family were very nice.

While we were there, we went to Naples, Agnon, and Caserta, they were beautiful cities, except Naples, I think that it was very dirty.

On Friday, our last day, we went to a party and we had dinner all together, I laughed a lot and we danced too.

On Saturday, we came back to Spain by plane.

I was very tired, but if I could go again, I would go. The teachers, Pilar and Fernando were very good, so I didn't mind going again with them.

This trip has been a very good experience, because we have met people, and the Spanish people are very good friends now. Maybe this summer we'll go together some day to the beach!
